On June 17, 2017, TWE presented Environmental Issues for Real Estate and Infrastructure Development Projects: Applied Environmental Science and Engineering in the Places We Live at the Association of Chinese American Professionals’ Science, Engineering and Technology Seminar held at the Sugar Land Marriott Hotel. TWE presented during the Environmental Protection session of the seminar, which included discussions of hydrogen-based energy, solar energy, biodegradable waste composting and reuse, iron slag beneficial reuse for construction materials, and climatology impacts on Central Texas flora and fauna. The open Q&A discussions were lively, with significant interest in the beneficial reuse of slag from the iron smelting process as a replacement for conventional materials used for tilt wall forms, floor slabs, road base, and other construction materials.
